WARM YELLWS: DAGOGO’s MEMOIR is a deeply personal body of work from Port Harcourt-born, Lagos-based alternative R&B artist Yellw. Named in honour of his late father, the project explores family, love, loss and the complicated process of growing up before you're ready.
Moving through memories of childhood, relationships, grief and the responsibilities that come with becoming an adult, Yellw reflects on the things we carry, the people who shape us and the versions of ourselves we sometimes have to leave behind. Across nine tracks, the project moves between heartbreak, vulnerability, the comfort of finding genuine love and the weight of navigating life after loss.
More than a collection of songs, DAGOGO’s MEMOIR is an offering to family and a tribute to his father's legacy. It is Yellw making sense of his experiences as he lives through them, holding on to the memories, finding his footing and allowing himself to remain soft in a world that sometimes asks him to grow up too quickly.
